If your looking to move to a new office or refurbish your existing space, you may be slightly overwhelmed with the jargon that we in the fitout and construction trade take for granted.
What is Office fit out?
Office fit out is were we make an internal space suitable for occupation, we transform a concrete shell into a fully useable space, from installing facilities, flooring and creating internal spaces and rooms.
What is Shell and Core fit out?
Shell and Core fit out is the state of a building before any type of interior fit out has occured. The space won't be usable at this stage, the building may look complete from the outside but inside the building's services etc haven't been installed.
A shell and core fit out will include:
> Lobbies
> Lifts
> Concrete and metal frames

What is cat A fit out?
A Cat A fit out includes basic finishes to floors, walls, and ceilings, the space is finished but with no fixtures and fittings. The space will be functional but will not include the final specifications included in a Cat B fit out.
A shell Cat B fit out will include:
> Lighting
> Cooling & Heating systems
> Toilets
> Flooring
> Ceilings
> Fire detection systems
> Mechanical and electrical services
